Tuesday, February 1, is the birthday of Frank Buckles, the last surviving American veteran of WWI.
According to Wikipedia, today Mr. Buckles “lives at Gap View Farm, in Charles Town, West Virginia, and is the Honorary Chairman of the World War I Memorial Foundation. During World War II, Buckles was taken prisoner by the Japanese as a civilian. ” You can read his biography at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Buckles
Keep this gallant man in your hearts and prayers. He is our last surviving connection to the ‘War to end all Wars.’

Jim,
Why don’t you and I make a pilgrimage to Frank’s house and pay him a visit?
