Here is a short update from Karen Ramsburg concerning the ongoing effort to save the Smith House in Mercersburg, PA.:
To all:
We are pleased to have received a letter of support from Professor of History, Kevin Kenny of Boston College, author of the recently published book on the Paxton Boys titled Peaceable Kingdom Lost.
To read Mr. Kenny’s gracious remarks please go to http://savesmithhouse.com
Mr. Kenny’s book is about the Pennsylvania frontier in the 1760s and includes several pages on the Black Boys Rebellion.
On behalf of the Committee to Save the Justice William Smith House we sincerely appreciate Mr. Kenny’s letter of support.
Karen Ramsburg
They have a very nice website which is well worth your time to check out.

For the history of Smith’s Rebellion go to http://smithrebellion1765.com where there are great photos of artifacts taken from the Smith house basement. More pictures of artifacts to come along with sketches of what we think the 1765 house would have looked like.
