The 2010 event will happen on the weekend of 21-22 August. The weekend prior is the North-South Trader Civil War - National WWI-WWII Show at The Showplace in Mechanicsville (Richmond). I will be exhibiting with author Scott Pritchett with two Army and two Waffen-SS panzer and assuault gun uniforms. At the Alan Cors event I will be exhibiting two Waffen-SS panzer and two Waffen-SS assault gun uniforms. I will be inside the large building with the Scout Car, AAA halftrack and other exhibits. Stop in and say hello.

Too bad you didn't get photos, or post them, of the incredible exhibit of original WW2 German Army and Waffen-SS panzer and assault gun jackets and caps. The exhibit was set up between two vehicles inside the main building. There was an Army Oberfeldwebel black panzer jacket and M38 overseas cap, an SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer black panzer jacket from the Das Reich Division and officer black panzer M1943 cap, a Waffen-SS camouflaged panzer jacket in Oakleaf A pattern, and an SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer of Aufklarungs assault gun jacket from the Das Reich Division. This exhibit will be there again but with four Waffen-SS panzer and assault gun jackets and caps. You don't get to see these everyday.

Jim,

Thank you for the kind words. On behalf of both the National Museum of Americans in Wartime and the Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles I would like to thank all of the living history units that participated in the Open House. It is the living historians that bring our "big toys" to life.

In addition to the NMAW site folks should also check out VMMV's page at www.vmmv.org.

Jim/Alexei,
Brilliant photos and a brilliant article. Almost like being there.
Sorry I had to miss this one but I guess there's next time. Look forward to seeing you at Cumberland and Bedford.
