Helmut and Jakob,

As usual, I had my VS gear with me but Linda and I decided at the last minute to go home a different way coming back from Strasburg, PA that week-end. Bravo for our stoltz Volkssturm, Freiheit und Leben!!!

That's pretty funny. I hadn't thought of it like that, but we were about the last on the field, except for Don, so you might say they left us alone with the Russian(s). :)

Jim,
This is a fine event and I'd like to encourage our Volkssturm kameraden to attend this event with us next year.

A special thanks to Jeff and the men of the 41st for their hospitality. I look forward our combined operations at future events.

On a humourous note Jim (aka Jakob), I found it historically ironic how the Heer unit camped beside us pulled out and left the Volkssturm behind. Does this echo notes of '45? I dare say so!

Mit kameradschaft,
