Take a minute from football to remember that 67 years ago today, Japan attacked the US fleet anchored at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Also remember the 2042 American service personnel who were killed and the 1282 who were wounded.

I watched “Battleground” as I always do around Christmas time. It is, afterall, a story that took place at Christmas around the town of Bastogne in 1944. This movie pays tribute to the common foot soldier with very little Hollywood distortion. It always helps me to remember the sacrifices of fellow Americans.

Oddly enough, I don’t think I’ve seen that one, but it is on my Netflix queue now! Thanks Chuck.

Jim – it’s a must see. I think Tom Hanks said that it was his inspiration for a film like Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. I remember seeing it in the 60′s and it being so different than the normal WWII flick. The Battered Bastards of Bastogne….we owe much to them.
